The Maghreb Financial Services Consultancy
Ltd. (MFSC)
MFSC is a UK limited company established in 2004.
It is owned by Mikael Garandeau, James McGrigor and two well-connected
Moroccan businessmen, with a range of interests.
It is a consultancy aiding financial services companies to
supply 'health and wealth' products to the North African market.
MFSC's roles to date have included:
- Selection of 'fronting' partners and arrangement of service
processes
To sell legally into certain North African markets requires
a fronting partner. This involves understanding the exact
regulatory situation and arranging the process appropriately.
For example, reinsurance and service agreement, with relevant
paperwork, commission, premium and claims payment flows etc.
MFSC recently arranged fronting in Morocco for a leading American
insurer and a prominent London-based broker. It first selected
a competent local partner and then designed an end-to-end
solution so that the employees of a large international hotel
business were legally covered.
- Pairing suppliers with distributiors
Through its knowledge of the Financial Services market in
selected countries, MFSC can provide opportunities for growth
to suppliers of certain financial products, especially in
the 'health & wealth' sector. For example, MFSC recently helped
an international health supplier to enter Morocco by partnering
it with a leading Moroccan insurer. Activities involved uncovering
the opportunity and convincing both parties, helping them
to design a new health insurance product with the attached
services and building the sales and marketing plan along with
the partners.
- Helping growth initiatives to be realised
Genuine growth requires much more than a business plan. MFSC
is able to 'deliver' growth by staying closely involved in
actual operations: for example, generating new leads, giving
training to local sales forces, monitoring and managing sales,
as an independant middleman on results and rewards.
MFSC uses a range of reward models, the predominant one being
a share of commission based on successful growth.
